Circa 1938 Laque polychrome gravé. Décor réalisé à la poudre d'aluminium, sur un fond en laque écaille nuagée. Signé en bas à gauche. Encadrement en laque arrachée brune d’origine Panneau : Haut.56 cm, Larg. 110 cm. 66 x 120 avec l’encadrement A "Sea swallows during the tempest", polychromatic lacquered panel with an alumnium powders decoration, made by Gaston Suisse around 1938. Signed on the bottom left. Original lacquered frame. Panel : 22,05 x 43,31 inch With frame : 25,98 x 47,24 inch History : By its size and composition, this panel is close to the one for which Gaston Suisse got a Gold Medal at the Paris’ International Arts and Techniques exhibition of 1937, that is reproduced in 1937’ Mobilier et décoration page 374. Origin : This panel has been held by the artist during the War as he was mobilised again. It has been bought directly from the artist around 1950 the sold again to the Meissirel Fine Arts Gallery from whom it has been bought by the current owner in 1995.Vente terminée
