Sébile en coco de mer sculptée avec ses anneaux et sa quadruple chaîne de suspension en laiton, à ouverture en forme de deux oiseaux affrontés, avec un bec verseur. Un large bandeau épigraphique en naskh ornemental ceinture l'objet. Il est souligné d'arabesques florales autour d'une mandorle polylobée. Sur le dessus motif du gul wa bulbul.
Belle patine ancienne.

A carved coco-de-mer kashkul or beggar's bowl, Persia, circa 1800
formed of half the original nut, the underside carved with a lobed medallion on scrolling floral decoration, the body with nice naskh inscriptions, the mouth carved with two confronted birds, pierced loops attached to suspension chains.
