Emile GALLE (1846 - 1904) & Saint-Clément
circa 1880Encrier en faïence émaillée polychrome, figurant un lion sur une terrasse crénelée avec un écu héraldique aux armes de la ville de Nancy.
A gauche un haume, dont la visière montée sur charnière permet d'accueilir la réserve d'encre.
Signature "Saint-Clément" sous la base, accompagnée des initiales des peintres "C.S" et "M.C".

A stoneware inkwell by Emile Gallé at Saint-Clément Workshops, showing a lion on a crenellated terrace with a coat of arms of the city of Nancy. On the left a haven of which the visor mounted on hinge can accommodate the ink reserve.
Signed "Saint-Clément" under the base, accompanied by the initials of the painters "C.S" and "M.C".
