*Anthropomorphic idol
depicting a seated crowned divinity, her arms symbolically crossed over her torso. The face is beautifully interiorized, with coffee-bean eyes and a symbolically sewn mouth. It is topped by a circular crown. Numerous figures of this type have been discovered, generally smaller in size than our example. They often represent the rain god Tlaloc or the water goddess Chalchiutlicue. Light-green metamorphic dolomitic limestone, carved and polished.
