Muraqqa - Album de calligraphies signé 'Ârif Effendi (1830-1909) composé de quatre pages sur papier contrecollé sur carton, chacune calligraphiée à l'encre noire de deux lignes en "thuluth ornemental" encadrant deux lignes en "naskh", donnant des phrases attestées. Sur la dernière page, signature : "Mashaqa 'Ârif Effendi". Larges marges "ebru". Belle reliure en maroquin rouge, avec une importante mandorle centrale à décor de "tchi". Il étudia le "thuluth" et le "naskh" auprès d'un maître local du nom d'Ismail Seibir, dont il reçut son 1er "Ijaza" (diplôme). En 1876, il s'installe à Istanbul où il devient élève de Sevki Effendi dont il reçoit son 2nd "Ijaza" en 1883. Il enseignera ensuite dans la médersa de la Mosquée Nuruosmaniye. Le "bismillah" qui orne une des portes de la mosquée Shehzâhde est de sa main.
