Gouache rehaussée d'or sur papier contrecollé sur carton, bordée de fines marges à fond pêche décorées de palmettes dorées, et de larges marges à fond beige animées de plants de fleurs diverses, dont des iris, des pavots, des tulipes et des roses. 39 x 26 cm la feuille 22,2 x 14,3 cm la scène Cette scène est une copie tardive de la peinture réalisée par Manohar au début du XVIIe siècle, montée dans le Wantage Album, aujourd'hui conservée au Victoria and Albert Museum (inv. n°IM. 111-1921). L'empereur moghol Jahangir (r. 1605-1627) , assis jambes croisées sur une estrade sous un auvent de grès rouge, reçoit son frère adoptif, Qutb al-Din Khan Koka (m. 1607), qui se tient à gauche, vêtu d'une veste courte sur un jama vert. A droite, se tiennent Raja Sangram (m. 1606) et Dalpat Ujjainiya qui porte une tunique à pointes. Derrière l'empereur, un jeune homme tient un chasse-mouche, l'un des emblèmes de la royauté, il s'agit du fils de Raja Sangram. Tous les personnages sont identifiés par de minuscules inscriptions persanes. La peinture pourrait être la nomination de Qutb al-Din Khan Koka aux fonctions de gouverneur du Bengale. Jahangir and Qutb ad-Din Khan Koka India, probably Deccan, circa 1800 Opaque pigments enhanced with gold, gilded flowering margins enhanced in blue. The Mughal emperor Jahangir (r. 1605-1627) sits crosslegged on a low platform beneath a rectangular red sandstone canopy. All the characters are identified by minute Persian inscriptions. On the terrace below the platform, on the left, is the emperor's foster-brother, Qutb al-Din Khan Koka. On the right are Raja Sangram (d.1606), zamindar of Kharagpur, whose son is the boy holding the fly whisk behind the emperor. The other figure is Dalpat Ujjainiya, wearing the four-pointed jama. This painting is a late copy of a page of the Wantage album, in Victoria and Albert Museum, by Manohar, probably done in Jahangir's accession year. It would depicting the nomination of Qutb al-Din Khan Koka as Governor of Benghal.Vente terminée
