« Tas » Bassin persan du Fars
Iran, XIVe siècle
En cuivre gravé et ciselé, incrusté d'argent, décoré de quatre médaillons circulaires ornés d'un cavalier, alternant avec quatre cartouches épigraphiques ovales inscrits en « thuluth » de formules votives, sur fond d'arabesques. Le fond entre les médaillons est orné de bouquets de fleurs. La lèvre est ornée d'une guirlande d'entrelacs feuillagés. Le dessous du bassin est orné de fleurons trilobés. (Petites usures, légers chocs et restauration).

A Fars silver inlaid brass bowl, Persia, 14th century
of deep rounded form with thick vertical rim, decorated with engraved calligraphic cartouches separated by medallions containing human figures both standing and on horseback, highlighted with silver inlay, the rim, interstices and ground with stylised floral and vegetal motifs, the base with a pattern of pointed trilobed palmettes.

Inscriptions :
« al-'izz li-mawlānā al-[su]lṭān al-a'ẓim al-a'lim al-a'dil »
« Gloire à notre maître le sultan, le plus grand, le plus savant, le plus juste »
