In-4 black long-grained morocco, smooth spine finely decorated, title gilt, boards richly decorated with an elaborate gilt frame and the initials LP crowned and laurelled, threaded edges, inner lace, pink moire endpapers (period binding). Engraved portrait in frontispiece. Bookplate of William Sandilands of Barny Hill.
Slight rubbing on the spines, scattered foxing otherwise a superb copy.
Antoine-Philippe was one of the two younger brothers of Louis-Philippe of Orleans (Philippe Egalité). His memoirs are the account of his captivity at the fort Saint-Jean in Marseille, from April 1793 to August 1796.
