Paris, Conquet, 1885. 2 vols. large in-8, dark green morocco, ribbed spines decorated with gilt framed quadruple fillet, gilt title and tomaison, gilt septuple fillet framing the boards, gilt edges, linings and endpapers in wine-red tabis, gilt fillet framing the counterplates with gilt floral corner finials, covers preserved (Marius Michel). Some foxing on original covers. 12 etched compositions by Em. Bayard etched by J. Massard. Limited edition of 500 copies; no. 16 of the 150 first copies on large Japon impérial paper, with the illustrations in three or four states. (Vicaire III, 45-46.) A very fine copy enriched with a L.A.S. from Alphonse Daudet, 1 p. in-12, slnd (""Be happy, sir, here is the autograph you asked for. But my God! What are you going to do with it? [...]"").
