Ouvrage commencé par feu M. Galland, continué et fini par M. Cardonne, Secrétaire-Interprète du Roi pour les Langues Orientales. Paris, P.G. Simon, Lambert, Humblot, Debure, Nyon, 1778. 3 vol. in-12, marbled calf, ornate smooth spines, cold fillet on covers, marbled edges (period binding). Spines rubbed and restored, lacking title and giblets. Illustrated headband at beginning of vol. 1. Vol. I. xvi-396 pp. Vol. II. 399 pp. Vol. III. 368 pp. "New edition, completing Galland's translation published in 1724. Cardonne enlarged the work with ten chapters forming a third volume. Based on the Turkish work by Ali Tchelebi entitled Homayoun Nameh (Royal Book); Translation of the Anvari Soheili, made in the first half of the 10th century of the Hegira.
