*Codex ceremonial vase featuring a processional scene of three richly dressed, standing dignitaries holding emblematic scepters, symbolizing their status and clans. Their faces bear beautiful hieratic expressions and each posture indicates that they are moving towards a temple. Rectangular cartouches with two glyphs one on top of the other, undeciphered. Polychrome terracotta, marks of time, slightly faded in places, broken and glued in four parts. Maya, Guatemala, Classical period, AD 600-900 15.5 x 10.5 cm Provenance: former Yvon Collet collection, 1967
