decorated with an animated scene showing a richly dressed dignitary seated on his throne in an agitated posture. In one hand, he holds the insignia of his vanquished enemy; in the other, he holds a scepter associated with his power, leaning on the figure of a deity in profile. Polychrome terracotta, broken and glued in five parts, with small fillings on the lower part, approx. 2.2 cm. Maya, Mexico, Classical period, AD 550-950 20.3 x 12.8 cm Provenance: Former Yvon Collet collection, 1967.
