shown standing nude, her torso adorned with a wide sautoir necklace and a multi-row choker with circular amulets. She wears large tambas over her ears and her headdress is covered with a turban arranged with care and balance. Her half-closed eyes, modeled in relief, give her a piercing gaze and a timeless expressiveness. Orange-beige terracotta with discreet polychrome remains, age marks and chips on the back of the turban. Michoacán, Highlands region, Mexico, 400 to 100 B.C. 19 x 7.7 x 2.7 cm Provenance: former Alain Brisset collection, 1965 This Venus stands out for the finesse of its modelling, its state of preservation and its size, enabling us to classify it as one of the largest.
