In-8 red morocco, ribbed spine decorated with double gilt fillet interlacing, gilt title, triple gilt fillet framing the boards, gilt edges, ivory morocco linings with very fine mosaic framing consisting of a blond morocco listel at the corners in rounded points, mulberry decorations mosaic in color in the spandrels, green faille lining, illustrated covers in color preserved, in edged slipcase (Chambolle-Duru). 78 wood-engraved compositions by H. Giacomelli, by Berveiller, Froment, Méaulle and Rouget. Preface by Jules Clarétie. Edition of 500 copies (wood destroyed); n°137 of 150 first copies on large paper from Japan or China (here China). Specimen bound in fine. Very rare foxing. A superb copy in a beautiful double binding signed by Chambolle-Duru.
