Enlarged second edition, illustrated with a title-frontispiece and numerous woodcut initials. This translation, rich in commentary on the 17 descriptions by the young Philostratus, complements those of the images given by his grandfather Philostratus the Elder. It also includes the 14 descriptions of statues written by Kallistos, as well as a description of ancient heroes. A precious copy in contemporary morocco.
