MARINE AND TRAVEL AUCTIONS

There's only a mile between sundials and Dutch seascapes... The Marine and Travel auctions department was created in 2022. The department's auctions are run by Mariam Varsimashvili, accompanied by leading experts in paintings and objects relating to the navy and travel, Pierre and Jean Porcher. Our experts will help you sell at the best possible price.

The Marine and Travel department offers a selection of paintings by official marine painters such as Antoine Roux père, Albert Brenet, Sandy Hook, Léon Haffner and Roger Chapelet.

Marine instruments and other marine-related items are also part of the adventure. Our experts and specialists in the Marine department select marine objects from the 19th and 20th centuries: marine writing cases, table services, hourglasses, globes, models, world maps and even furniture from the French Navy or the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique... MILLON's Marine auctions take you on a voyage!

Marine auctions are also reinvented as veritable cabinets of curiosities, with scientific objects such as equinoctial and astronomical rings, and dials by Langlois and Johann Willebrand.

The Marine et Voyage auction calendar:

To sell at the best price and satisfy every buyer, two sales a year are organised:

● Catalogued sales based on the finest marine and travel items: globes, maps, stools, plans, silverware from the French Navy, 19th and 20th century marine paintings. The items are carefully selected and highlighted.

● Online auctions showcase naval paintings and objects at affordable prices. They are ideal for connoisseurs and enable lots to be widely distributed. These sales take place on the Internet. They give unlimited access to the catalogue and auctions from the four corners of the world.

● So Unique Auctions: Do you own an exceptional, one-off item? A unique, exceptional, rare and valuable Marine painting or object can be presented to bidders on its own.

Selling works at all prices: appraisals and estimates

The Marine department relies on rigorous appraisals to justify precise estimates. The works are certified by our specialists and authenticated thanks to irreproachable traceability.

Don't hesitate to entrust us with the sale of your Marine collection!

At the heart of Marine auctions, collections are the focus of special attention to bring out the emotions of the collector or the marine and travel enthusiast. The catalogues lend themselves to the game by conveying the collector's spirit. The collection may bear the collector's name, or remain anonymous.

The department's sales achieve excellent results, with a high percentage of lots going for top price.
