JANESICH
Brooch in platinum (950 thousandths) formed of a rock crystal ring, highlighted by two sleeves paved with 8x8 cut diamonds and black enamelled sugar loaf cabochons, two geometrically shaped lateral motifs set with 8x8 cut diamonds also in baguette and fancy, the ends of the motifs highlighted with black enamel (small lacks in the enamel). Circa 1930.
Signed "Janesich", numbered 11578, French hallmark.
Length approx. 7.2 cm

This brooch illustrates the Art Deco creations of the extraordinary jewellery house Janesich, of Italian origin, which settled in France in 1896. From then on, this house will develop its activity in Paris and quickly acquire an international reputation. This brooch is to be compared with similar models in their shapes and proportions: a ring flanked on each side by geometrically decorated elements (Sotheby's, n°476, 14 November 2012 - brooch: blackheathjewellery.com).
