Large Louis XV style vase with two handles decorated with reeds and its lid in red marble from Verona carved with gadroons and gilt bronze and chiselled
French work, 19th
century period: 63 cm
(restored at the foot)
Provenance: Château de la Roquette (Hainaut)
From a porphyry and gilt bronze vase made around 1750, probably coming from the collection of the Duke of Tallard that the Marquis de Marigny proposed to sell to the Crown in 1778. This vase decorated the salon of the First Consul in the Tuileries, it was still in this palace during the Second Empire.
