Cult mask presenting a face with a beautiful... - Lot 52 - Millon
Cult mask presenting a face with a beautiful hieratic expression and a formalist rendering. His mouth is open, the lips drawn with care and balance, the nose slightly flattened and nostrils pierced. Its ears, presented by two rectangular protrusions, are pierced, perhaps they were originally adorned with ornaments made of perishable material. Its cheeks are embellished with a stepped decoration symbolizing the steps of a temple staircase. Carved and polished (jadeite or serpentine) Teotihuacan, Mexico, Classical period, 200-650 AD 16 x 17 x 8 cm
